Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and eventually splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his initial title since the Rome competition and first on a hard court from March of that year.

Success also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.

The player's retrieving strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his skill to play at the elite level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden tour victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.

Moutet rescued four early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
