The Popular Show Season Four Reveals the Soldiers Table
Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group knows exactly where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then settled his debts and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Explorers and Schemers parties.
